sometimes some words are a little difficult to remember
some functions are difficult to grasp
however, it has really aided me in using search engines the RIGHT way

i would not understand most of the things
and will just lose interest and shut it off

But as a singaporean,
i think it's really amusing to read.
well firstly it had already stated a disclaimer that
they make stuff upand it's simply for fun
and definitely not political.

Now i see why it is important to read through the
website first, find out the purpose and etc
if not one would get offended reading all these things

Problems with the internet:
well, there are a lot of useless information
sometimes when searching for a certain word
certain websites come up on the results because the keyword
was used out of context.
so sometimes a mere 10% of the search is what you're looking for
or even less sometimes.
it really does waste a lot of time
so the internet isn't exactly a 100% great

the invisible web which is also known as the 'deep web'
i never knew such a thing existed
it offers information that cannot be found on normal search engines
the information is up to date and reliable
mostly articles, abstracts and citations, census data, patents and etc
but still it doesn't mean using the invisible web database is enough
it needs to be accompanied with the other information from search engines
to be considered a full research.

i didn't know our school's spark.tp.edu.sg was one of them.
i have used it before for research and it really has been helpful
especially for looking for articles
things not easily found on google.
add the 2 together and i have a comprehensive research!

Google rocks!
it truly has the biggest web search engine database
MORE THAN 25 billion PAGES!
amazing

even though i always always use google
i never knew the functions of the searches
that there are ways to make the search more precise

but still, i think google is simply amazing just by one fact
that even though sometimes when you type in a hurry
and mis-spell a word or google thinks you mis-spelt it
it will offer other suggestions of words that may be right
so that you can search for the exact thing.

how amazing is that? it helps.

i've learnt that different search facilities cater to different search purposes
like for example news or entertainment.
or even the use of subject directories can help find information on a certain topic easily
and related stuff will appear as well.

Search engines
In the past the use of search engines was shallow
but now i realized there are different kinds of search engines
there are even meta search engines that can search a few search engines as once
making the search of a wider range
each search engine is unique and differen in its own way
not to mention the use of Boolean operators
it ensures that you can find the exact words you want.
so amazing!

this will definitely be helpful in future projects and researches

if i had $500 i would get an iPod Touch

i would get the 16gb one that costs $498.00
on store.apple.com
i love to listen to music and watch videos
so it'll really be great to be able to bring them everywhere i go
8gb definitely won't be enough
so 16gb is just nice plus it fits the $500 budget

when it comes to things like electronic gadgets and stuff
i always believe it is safer to get it from the original retailer
especially shopping online
you never know what they may cheat you of
like not giving you all the necessary wires and etc
or even selling you a second hand or faulty item
so i choose the apple online store!
